Suzanne se narodila v americkém velkoměstě New Yorku, přesněji v Brooklynu. Její otec Eugene byl manažerem společnosti Paramount Theatre, matka Geraldine byla tanečnicí. Suzanne studovala herectví na newoyrské High School of the Performing Arts. Po ukončení střední školy studovala jeden semestr na univerzitě v Syrakusách, aby se poté vrátila do New Yorku na Finch College, elitní školu pro dobře situované mladé ženy.
