Chtěl si udržet vládu nad svým osudem až do samotného konce... 14. dubna 1821 prožíval Napoleon Bonaparte další den ve vyhnanství na ostrově Svatá Helena a do konce života mu zbývalo jen několik málo dní. Onoho rána nadiktoval zvláštní dopis guvernérovi ostrova, v němž jej zpravoval o vlastní smrti. Zbývalo jen doplnit datum. Smrt znal umírající Napoleon dobře, pohrával si s ní léta, chodil jí vstříc v bitvách, a dokonce se neúspěšně pokusil o sebevraždu. Prožijme znovu vzestupy i osudová selhání jednoho z nejmocnějších mužů světových dějin. Ačkoliv tělo legendárního vojevůdce zemřelo, jeho legenda žije dodnes. (Česká televize)
