Milionář Bruce Wayne, který se skrývá pod maskou Batmana, se musí postavit vědci Victoru Friesovi, jenž se po nehodě v laboratoři změnil ve zločinného Mr. Freeze. Ten musí udržovat svou teplotu na bodu mrazu a v bizarním ledovém sídle se pokouší najít lék pro svou hibernovanou manželku. K provozu laboratoře, a zejména pak svého mrazícího brnění, potřebuje diamanty, které uloupí a ani Batman s Robinem mu v tom nedokáží zabránit. Protože jeho spotřeba diamantů je obrovská, podaří se Batmanovi vlákat ho do pasti na aukci a zajmout. K útěku mu pomůže Poison Ivy, dříve dr. Isley, která hodlá nastolit na Zemi vládu rostlin. Poison nabídne Freezemu spojenectví, nehraje s ním však čestně. Odpojila totiž od přístrojů jeho ženu a svedla to na Batmana. Mr. Freeze přísahá, že se pomstí a zmrazí svým novým vynálezem nejen Batmana, ale i celý Gotham a po něm celý svět. Pokud mu v tom chtějí Batman, Robin a jejich nová spolubojovnice Batgirl zabránit, nesmějí zaváhat ani na okamžik. (TV Nova)
