Francouzská herečka Marie Trintignant se narodila na pařížském předměstí Boulogne-Billancourt a má kořeny v umělecké rodině – jejími rodiči byli slavný herec Jean-Louis Trintignant (*1930) a režisérka Nadine Trintignant, rozená Marquand (*1934), v oblasti filmu se pohybovali také strýcové z matčiny strany, herci Christian Marquand (1927-2000) a Serge Marquand (1930-2004).
