Ethel Merman, vlastním jménem Ethel Agnes Zimmermann, je americká zpěvačka, herečka a představitelka hlavní role v broadwayských muzikálech, která se proslavila silným a čistým hlasem. Ethel pracovala jako sekretářka a zpívala v nočních klubech a vaudevillu, než v roce 1930 vystoupila v muzikálu George a Iry Gershwinových „Girl Crazy“ pod jménem Ethel Merman.
