Město Doupov (německy Duppau) stálo před válkou v okrese Kadaň nedaleko Karlových Varů. Mělo několik škol a kostelů, gymnázium, zámek, továrnu, poštu i vlakové nádraží. Dnes byste romantické horské město, které hrálo v několika filmech, hledali marně. Za komunistů ho kompletně srovnali se zemí. Najdete tam však unikátní horskou přírodu, spoustu divokých zvířat a také děsivou hrobku rodu Zedtwitzů na kopci nad zmizelým městem.

Doupov vstoupil nejen do starých knih, ale i do filmových dějin, a to hned několikrát - je vidět ve filmu Pět hříšníků, Dnes večer všechno skončí, Blbec z Xeenemünde a odehrává se tam téměř celý film Konec srpna v hotelu Ozon, kde město působí už hodně depresivně. Jde o trochu podivný snímek, českou apokalyptickou sci-fi točenou s minimálním rozpočtem, ale je tam vidět město včetně interiéru kostela. Dokazuje tak, že Doupov ještě v roce 1966 existoval.

Varování: Doupov stále patří vojákům. Vstup raději konzultujte s Armádou ČR. V žádném případě nevstupujte do Doupova, pokud slyšíte střelbu, letadla či jinou vojenskou techniku!

                              Politická agitace v českém hraném filmu v letech 1948- 1959

Tyhle filmy byly většinou nepravdivé, např. film Botostoj měl představovat podnikatele Tomáše Baťu v negativním světle. Jenže T.B. byl pravým opakem toho, jak ho film prezentuje. Vím to z první ruky od svého otce, který pocházel z míst, kde se děj odehrával. Tak že tyhle agitační akčňáky jsou většinou k pousmání. Nicméně tyhle filmy představují určité období českého filmu a neměly by končit v trezoru, jako některé západní i české filmy za socíku. To už tady jednou bylo a takhle to nikdo z nás přece nechtěl.
