Zkušený policista Kyle Bodine se zamiloval do ženy, která o něj zprvu nejevila zájem, neboť byla vdaná. Byl jí zcela okouzlený, znovu ji vyhledal - a tehdy začal jejich milostný román. Muž krásné Rachel byl násilník a týral ji. Netrvalo dlouho a manželka ho zabila. V panice povolala na pomoc svého přítele a on jí pomohl zahladit stopy.
