Je bez práce a přihlásí se do armády. Pak se zamiluje do krásné Pauly. Zack Mayo (Richard Gere) přichází do školy pro důstojnické uchazeče s touhou stát se námořním pilotem. Instruktoři nováčky varují, aby si nic nezačínali s místními dívkami, které se chtějí za každou cenu stát důstojnickými ženami.
