Malá Gigi (Leslie Caron) je vychovávána svoji babičkou a příležitostně dostává společenské lekce od babiččiny sestry – kurtizány. U babičky se setkává s bohatým mladíkem Gastonem (Louis Jourdan). Gaston k nim chodí nasávat domácí pohodu a dobírat si Gigi. Ani si neuvědomí, že z ní vyrostla slečna. Tato proměna způsobí změnu jejich vztahu, kdy babička dá jasně najevo, že nenechá Gigi zkompromitovat bez záruky na finanční zajištění. Gaston přistoupí na obchodní podmínky, ale hned první večer kdy uvede Gigi do společnosti si uvědomí, že ji miluje a požádá o její ruku. (Jezinka)
