Poněkud svérázná mladá Pinky přijíždí z amerického jihu do Kalifornie a začíná pracovat v lázeňském zařízení. Sbližuje se přitom se zdravotní sestrou, světačkou Millie a s její kamarádkou, která čeká dítě. Každá ze tří žen prožívá citové krize, během nichž si osvojují identity obou dalších.
