Temný plášt mlhy zakrývající celé království se průdce rozevírá a do světa lidí vniká přes husté mračno šupinatý tvor. Zděšení lidé, kteří zahlédnou letící monstrum ze strachu utíkají do svých příbytků a toužebně čekají, že se najde někdo odvážný, kdo je ze strachu a bezmoci osvobodí. Samotný král země je zděšen v momentu, kdy se dozví, že se jedná o prastarého draka, chrlící oheň jenž má zálusk na dívky z celého království. Král ze strachu a starých proroctví splňuje drakovi nároky na nevinné a půvabné dívky, které žijí v chudobě a mají hlad. Jenže to nebudou ony krásky, které budou stát na konci potravinového řetězce, nybrž samotný věčně nenajezený starý tvor z temnot. Tohle vše se dozví v pravý čas moudrý kouzelník a rozhodne se svým kouzelnickým učněm zakročit.
Takhle by se dal stručně popsat fantasy film Matthewa Robbinse, který nás zavádí do časů krásných princezen a nebojácných bojovníků, kteří mají chuť se porvat s každým zlem. (Kinolístek)
