Jaký otec, takový syn. Navenek vypadá Martin (Eric Stoltz) jako normální zdravé dítě. Ale pod jeho zevnějškem se skrývá výjimečná bytost. Za prvé je génius. Za druhé je plně dospělý, přestože je mu teprve pět let. Ale nejpozoruhodnější ze všeho je, že Martin je synem lidské mouchy, vědce, jehož geny byly tragicky zdeformovány při nezdařeném experimentu.
