Poručík Tuck Pendleton (Dennis Quaid) je mladý a stejně tak arogantní pilot pracující ve výzkumu miniaturizace. Při jednom experimentu, kdy má být jeho "ponorka" zmenšena na mikrometry a vstříknuta do těla bílého králíka, do laboratoře vtrhne skupina zločinců a snaží se tuto revoluční technologii ukrást. Jeden z vědců s Tuckem uteče, ale je zabit. Okamžik před smrtí ještě vstříkne Tucka do těla Jacka Puttera (Martin Short), neurotického hypochondra. Spolu se poté snaží zjistit, kdo za útokem stojí a získat potřebné přístroje zpět. A to nejen protože Jack nesnese pomyšlení, že mu tělem rejdí malilinkatý človíček a roznáší tam bacily, ale i protože Tuck nechce zemřít někde v trávícím traktu člověka a nechat tak matku svého budoucího dítěte a svou lásku Lydii Maxwellovou (Meg Ryan) v domnění, že je nejhorším chlapem pod sluncem.
