Vojenská a politická kariéra francouzského generála a císaře, kterého se bála celá Evropa. Napoleon byl takzvaný malý – velký muž a nesmazatelně se vepsal do dějin celé Evropy. Statečný válečník a někdy i moudrý muž. Francouzský generál a císař Napoleon Bonaparte (1769–1821). Jeden z největších vojevůdců světa. Z mladšího důstojníka francouzské armády se vypracoval na francouzského panovníka. Vedl Francii v mnoha úspěšných taženích. V roce 1812 ovládal nebo měl pod kontrolou větší část Evropy. Při tažení do Ruska se nejprve jeho vojsku dařilo, ale pak jej zaskočila zima a musel ustoupit. Nakonec utrpěl katastrofální porážku. Z původních cca 500 000 vojáků jich zůstalo asi 50 000. Tato porážka byla začátkem Napoleonova konce. O dva roky později přitáhly ruské, pruské a rakouské jednotky do Paříže. Napoleon musel abdikovat a odejít do exilu na ostrov Elba. (Česká televize)
