Příběhy odvážného dona Diega de la Vega, který si nasazuje masku Zorra a v této tajné identitě bojuje proti padouchům a ochraňuje nevinné a bezbranné obyvatele městečka Pueblo de Los Angeles. V civilu ze sebe dělá nemotoru, který neumí zacházet s kordem, natož jezdit na koni. Je zamilovaný do dívky Victorie. Ale nikomu, ani jí se nesvěří se svojí tajnou identitou. Pouze jeho němý sluha Felipe zná jeho tajemství a pomáhá mu, mnohdy dosti výrazně. Jedním z důležitých záporáků je komandant Alcalde Luis Ramone, který ovládá Los Angeles a vykořisťuje obyvatele. Proti Zorrovi je i osádka místní "policie", vedená seržantem Mendosou, jehož postava je spíše komediálního rázu. Zorro tak prožívá mnoho dobrodružství v tomto mnohadílném TV seriálu. (Šimpy)
