Film vypráví skutečný příběh Brandona Burlswortha (Chris Severio), který už od dětství sní sen o kariéře profesionálního hráče amerického fotbalu. Díky svému úsilí, tvrdému tréninku a také podpoře svého bratra Martyho (Neal McDonough) a matky (Leslie Easterbrook) se z role náhradníka dostává do role opory mužstva. Jeho slibně rozjetou kariéru však zastavila tragická autonehoda. Snímek začíná Brandonovým pohřbem a je vzpomínkou na celý jeho život od obézního dítěte s velkým snem až po čerstvě draftovaného hráče do NFL. (fisus)
