Jsou Vánoce a rodina McCallisterů se chystá na Floridu i se strejdou Frankem a jeho rodinou. Ráno zaspí, nastane zmatek, ale na letiště odjedou všichni. Přes letištní halu musejí běžet, aby letadlo stihli, a tak se stane, že Kevin nastoupí do jiného letadla než ostatní. Kevin až v New Yorku zjistí, kde je, a rozhodne se, že si užije i bez rodiny. Ubytuje se v luxusním hotelu, jelikož má u sebe otcovu tašku s penězi i s kreditní kartou a v recepci oznámí, že otec Peter dorazí později... Kevinovi rodiče Kate s Peterem už ale zjistí, že s nimi Kevin nepřiletěl, a jdou na policii žádat o pomoc. Tam Peter navíc zjistí, že jeho peněženku i kreditní kartou má Kevin. Pomocí kreditní karty mohou Kevina vystopovat – policie rozešle číslo kreditní karty jako hledané. Kevin se mezitím v New Yorku rozhodl navštívit hračkářství pana Duncana, který je velmi hodný a výtěžek z vánočního prodeje hraček chce věnovat na konto dětské nemocnice. Kevin je Duncanovým hračkářstvím nadšen a pan Duncan mu dá dvě hrdličky ze svého vánočního stromku. Jenže jeho hračkářství chtějí vyloupit lupiči, právě ti, s nimiž se Kevin setkal o loňských Vánocích. Když se s nimi setká, uteče do hotelu. Tam na něj už čeká vrátný, jelikož přišla výzva ohledně kreditní karty Petera McCallistera a Kevin musí z hotelu utéct zadním vchodem. Tam ale na něj čekají lupiči... Kevin uteče, zkusí navštívit strejdu, ale ten není doma a navíc se jeho dům přestavuje. Kevin skončí v nočním parku, kde ho vyděsí paní, která tam chodí krmit holuby. Nakonec se s paní ale spřátelí a rozhodne se zabránit lupičům ve vykradení hračkářství... (TV Prima)
