Jaro 1871, japonský velvyslanec, doprovázený dvěma samuraji, jede v soukromém vagónu Transkontinentálního expresu na návštěvu k prezidentovi Spojených států, aby mu přivezl velmi cenný dar – samurajský meč nevyčíslitelné hodnoty. Do vlaku však nastoupili i členové bandy vedené desperáty Linkem a Gotchem. Zajímá je poštovní vůz, který převáží zlato, jež je střeženo vojenskou kavalérií. Zlato je uloupeno, ale jejich pozornosti neujde bohužel soukromý vagón. Jeden ze samurajů je zabit, cenný meč ukraden. Samuraj Kuroda má sedm dní na to, aby přinesl meč zpátky. Uprostřed Divokého západu stojí člověk, který žije a koná podle kodexu bušidó, zákona samurajů... Rudé slunce je western natočený v roce 1971 s mezinárodním obsazením. V hlavních rolích se vedle sebe objevil americký představitel tvrdých mužů Charles Bronson, legenda japonských filmů Toširó Mifune, francouzský herec Alain Delon a švýcarská herečka Ursula Andressová. Film byl natočen ve Španělsku britským režisérem Terencem Youngem. (Česká televize)
