Vzrušení začíná ve chvíli, kdy dobrodružství ožívá! Ben Stiller vévodí hvězdnému komediálnímu obsazení v roli Larryho Daleyho, bývalého nočního hlídače v Přírodovědném muzeu, ve kterém výstavní exponáty po setmění ožívají. Nyní však Larry se svými nočními přáteli čelí novým nebezpečím v Smithsonově institutu, kde poněkud rozmrzelý egyptský faraón odhaluje svůj ohavný plán převzít vládu nad muzeem… a pak i nad celým světem!
