Po svém návratu z fronty v II. světové války se Paul Sutton setká s Victorií Aragónovou, která je na cestě domů. Její domov se nachází ve vinařské oblasti Las Nubes v Mexiku. Zoufalá Victorie se bojí přijít domů kvůli svému despotickému otci, protože čeká dítě s cizím mužem. Paul, který je očarován jejím šarmem ji nabídne, že ji bude na statek doprovázet a předstírat, že jsou novomanželé. V době oslav nové úrody hrozna se však oba dva do sebe zamilují avšak Albertovi, Victoriinimu otci, který dodržuje staré mexické tradice se tento vztah vůbec nezdá... (oficiální text distributora)
