Jamajka, rok 1716. Ostrov je sužován krutovládou guvernéra Duranta (Boyle), který dále upevňuje svoji moc uvězněním soudce Barnetta. V této situaci se pokusí jeho ženu a dceru Jane (Bujold) oloupit o majetek. To však nenechá v klidu šlechetného piráta Neda Lynche (Shaw) a jeho přítele Nicka Debretta (Jones), kteří vyprovokují potyčku s vojáky a zmocní se kočáru s lupem. Náhoda jim svede do cesty Jane, která u Neda pozná svůj medailon od otce. Jane pirátům příliš nedůvěřuje, a přesto, že ji pomohou utéct před Durantovými vojáky, opouští Nedův koráb. Situace na ostrově se však mezitím přiostřila, guvernér se rozhodl popravit všechny vězně a s nimi i soudce Barnetta. Jane nezbývá nic jiného, než požádat Neda o pomoc... (J.Connor)
