Na přání otce se rodina Earpových stěhuje z Missouri do Kalifornie. Cestou poznávají Divoký západ a jeho drsné zákony. Syn Wyatt studuje práva. Je to mladík, který se vyhýbá násilí. Odjíždí z Kalifornie za svou dívkou, kterou miluje, a ožení se. Ona během těhotenství zemře na tyfus a Wyatt ze zoufalství zapálí dům. Stane se z něj opilec, krade, přepadává lidi, naučí se zabíjet, dostane se do vězení a jen o vlásek unikne oprátce, protože jeho dědeček za něj složil kauci a nechal ho utéct. Od té doby Wyattovi začne nový život. Stane se lovcem bizonů, krupiérem v kasinu, pak zástupcem šerifa v malém městě. Šerif z blízkého Dodge City ho přesvědčí, aby mu pomohl chránit zákon. Wyatt s sebou vezme své přátele a bratra. Začnou prosazovat nové zákony, ale to se lidem v městečku nelíbí. (TV Nova)
