Vzácná starožitnost, která patřila carskému rodu Romanovců zmizí z Moskvy. Agent Secret Service ji získá, ale pronásledovatelé ho smrtelně poraní. James Bond (Roger Moore) díky dražbě okamžitě poznává, kdo ji chce za každou cenu dostat zpět. Dostává se tak do hry kde jde kromě diamantů i o mnohem nebezpečnější věc. Vstupuje do ní totiž šílený generál Orlov (Steven Berkoff). Chce útočit na Německo, ale jeho nadřízení jsou proti. To však neznamená, že by se Orlov vzdal. Bond by mohl získat potřebné informace v nepřístupném sídle ženy s tetováním chobotničky (Maud Adams). Tato žena je ale stejně krásná, jako nebezpečná. (PB Publishing)
