Dokumentární série Kosmos - časoprostorová odysea je nový strhujícího třináctidílný pořad producentky a scénáristky Anny Druyanové a producenta Setha MacFarlana (Griffinovi, Méďa). Po více jak třiceti letech, kdy měla premiéru původní série, u nás uváděna pod názvem Vesmír, ve které mohli diváci spolu s Carlem Saganem ohromujícím a ikonickým způsobem prozkoumat vesmír, se Seth MacFarlane spojil s původními Saganovými spolupracovníky, scenáristkou a producentkou Druyanovou a spoluscenáristou a astronomem Stevenem Soterem. Společně pak vytvořili třinácti dílnou sérii, která má být nástupcem původního pořadu, jež získal televizní cenu Emmy a cenu Peabody za význačný úspěch a záslužnou veřejnou službu. Průvodcem pořadu Kosmos – časoprostorová odysea bude renomovaný astrofyzik doktor Neil deGrasse Tyson. Stejně jako původní legendární série je nový Kosmos ságou o objevování zákonitostí přírody a nalezení našich souřadnic v prostoru a čase. Série oživí nikdy nevyřčené příběhy, diváci podniknou cestu do nového světa a napříč kosmem, aby v malém měřítku poznali velkolepost vesmíru. Dokument přichází s novým způsobem vědeckého vyprávění, který odkrývá majestátnost vesmíru a znovu využívá slavné prvky z původní série, včetně kosmického kalendáře a lodi imaginace. Nejdůkladnější vědecké koncepty jsou prezentovány s ohromující jasností, spojuje se skepse s údivem a precizní přírodní vědy se setkávají s citovou a spirituální rovinou, což představuje jedinečnou zkušenost.
