Vrcholné dílo němého filmu francouzské kinematografie. Monumentální historická freska francouzského režiséra Abela Ganceho o Napoleonově životě. Děj je složen z jednotlivých epizod vojevůdcova života, který se v konečné podobě skládal ze šesti dějství. Na začátku popisuje jeho dětství a studia na vojenské akademii. Následuje uvěznění na Korsice, odsouzení k smrti a útěk do Paříže. V dalším dějství dovede Napoleon francouzskou armádu k vítězství nad Angličany u Toulonu a stává se generálem. Poté je zatčen a setkává se s Josephine, kterou si později vezme za ženu. Poslední dějství končí italským tažením. (contrastic)
