V roce 1963 o Halloweenské noci ubodal šestiletý Michael svou patnáctiletou sestru Judith. Po patnácti letech v ústavech se mu podaří právě v předvečer všech svatých utéct. Nikdo neví a nikdo ani nechce vědět, co se stane 31. října 1978, kromě doktora Loomise, Michaelova psychiatra. Ten si je jistý, že se Michael vrací zpátky do Haddongield, ale když to zjistí zbytek města, je už pro mnoho lidí pozdě. (Pannonia Ent.)
