Mocný bůh Zeus zničí království krále Acrisia jako trest za to, že dal vlastní dceru a jejího právě narozeného syna Persea svrhnout do moře. Zatímco poslední z titánů Kraken ničí království, Perseus, který je ve skutečnosti Diovým potomkem, i jeho matka, jsou bezpečně dopraveni na ostrov Serifos. Kalibos, syn bohyně Thetis, už takové štěstí nemá, protože ho Zeus změní v netvora jako trest za to, že vyhubil Diovo stádo létajících koní. O princeznu Andromedu, kterou si měl vzít za ženu, se tak sice mohl ucházet každý, jenže všichni zatím skončili na hranici, protože nedokázali uhádnout její hádanku a tím zlomit prokletí. Perseus, kterého Thetis z pomsty přenesla do fénického města Džopy, je okouzlen krásou Andromedy a rozhodne se ji získat. Využije magických zbraní, kterými ho vybavili bohové na příkaz Dia, a v nebezpečné noční výpravě se mu podaří odhalit odpověď na novou hádanku. Radost však netrvá dlouho, protože marnivá královna Kasiopeia urazí Thetis a bohyně žádá jako odplatu smrt pro Andromedu. Kasiopeia ji musí za třicet dnů na mořském břehu obětovat Krakenovi. Pouhých třicet dnů má tak Perseus na to, aby své milované zachránil život. (TV Nova)
