Britský kultovní seriál 80. let, ve kterém si John Nettles (VRAŽDY V MIDSOMERU) zahrál detektiva Jima Bergeraca. Přestože u nás je tento seriál naprosto neznámý, v británii je velmi oblíben a John Nettles si v něm zahrál bezesporu životní roli. Velmi zajímavé je i prostředí seriálu. Děj se odehrává na malém ostrově Jersey poblíž francouzského pobřeží. Jim Bergerac se vrácí po zotavení z těžké nehody zpět na ostrov, má za sebou nepříjemný rozvod a protialkoholní léčbu. Nastupuje znovu jako detektiv do tzv. Bureau des Etrangers (oddělení pro cizince) a řeší nejrůznější kriminální případy. V letech 1981-1991 bylo na BBC odvysíláno 9 sérií tohoto seriálu a několik speciálů. Poslední epizodou byl vánoční speciál v prosinci 1991. (Sowa)
